They offer programmes that boost confidence, develop skills, and build connections. Through partnerships with local groups, LifeLine fills gaps in support and provides essential services to those in need.
Barking Rugby FC
Based in Barking and Dagenham uses rugby and other sports to engage young people, promoting healthier, safer lifestyles while addressing issues like gang culture, obesity, and school exclusions. Through partnerships and innovative programmes like 100%SEC and the Model City London initiative, they foster youth inclusion, support education, and champion community-led initiatives, earning national recognition for their impactful work.
HumDum
Humdum Community Interest Company, based in Barking & Dagenham, is a volunteer-led initiative that prepares fresh, nutritious meals for individuals facing hardship while supporting the wider community through partnerships with local grassroots initiatives. They recently opened a restaurant in Barking Town Centre to promote long-term self-sufficiency and continue providing homemade meals and food parcels to those in need.
Sycamore Trust
Sycamore Trust U.K. is a charity based in Barking and Dagenham which supports parents, carers and individuals for whom Autistic Spectrum Disorders and/or Learning Difficulties are part of everyday life. Their services currently range across the London Boroughs of Barking and Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge. They offer a range of specialised services designed to support families, educate the community and empower individuals of all ages to flourish and be valued members of society.
Barking & Dagenham Future Youth Zone
Future Youth Zone, a youth charity in Barking & Dagenham, provides a safe and engaging space for young people aged 8-19, or up to 25 for those with additional needs, to connect, explore new opportunities, and build their futures. Open evenings and weekends year-round, the centre offers over 20 activities per session, ensuring every young person finds a place to go, something to do, and someone to talk to, with their voices shaping and inspiring its mission.
